This webinar was sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act which included a number of important health and prevention initiatives targeted to assist at-risk children and their families. Among the initiatives, the law provides $1.5 billion over the next five years for a Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program. The first funding announcement for this program has been released and responses are due by July 9, 2010.
This webinar will provide an overview of the expectations outlined in the announcement as they pertain to coordination for substance abuse treatment services, discuss possible substance abuse data sources and resources for the development of the statewide needs assessment described in the funding announcement, and discuss best practice models for incorporating substance abuse services into home visiting programs. An opportunity will be provided for participants to submit questions that will be answered in writing to all participants as soon as possible after the Webinar has concluded.
