Many adolescents and their caregivers in the child welfare system are in need of treatment for substance use disorders. Most of the youth have trauma histories, often related to parental substance abuse. This presentation will explore ways for identification of youth in need of treatment or support services. Further, proven effective evidence-based practices will be discussed. Child welfare attendees will come away with practical guidance on how to identify youth in need of services, and what to look for in a referral agency to achieve the best results for their youth.
