Tribal In-Home Services Systems of Care

August 27, 2012
Ashley K. Harding

The webinar provides a framework for working with tribal families affected by substance use disorders. Webinar attendees will understand 1) the correlation between substance use and child abuse/neglect and the increased risk for American Indian and Alaskan Native children, 2) the need for a comprehensive approach to address the issue, 3) how to coordinate substance use interventions with child welfare services and 4) how to plan an In-Home Services System of Care inclusive of substance use treatment.  The Tribal In-Home Services Model and the SAFERR (Screening and Assessment for Family Engagement and Retention) model of cross-systems collaboration are presented as useful tools in developing a comprehensive system of care.
