In Humboldt County, Children and Family Futures is working with the Health, Mental Health and AOD systems to establish an Alcohol and Other Drug [AOD] Death Review Panel to review and research AOD related deaths in Humboldt County. The goal is to be able to  better determine the distribution and causes of these events so that future deaths can be prevented. A multi-disciplinary panel operating in compliance with confidentiality requirements for health, mental health, and AOD records, will review data regarding individual cases.  A database will be used for further analysis of patterns and trends in AOD related deaths.
